Home Remedies for Shingles Scars

Shingles of herpes zoster is said to be a viral infection, which causes painful rashes on body. It can affect any part of your body, and it causes by the virus named varicella zoster, it is the same virus which causes the chickenpox. Many people have been facing shingle disease and its scars. Shingle scars occurs on small body parts mostly, and you can also have blisters of fluid filled, if the situation get worse then a person have fever, fatigue and light sensitivity.

The proper course of anti-biotic and anti-viral medicines in necessary, so must take advice of your doctor. Except that precaution is must, so you can take help of some basic and simple home methods. Let’s take a look of some home remedies for shingle scars:-

  • Bathing for relief:

Facing these painful blisters can make you feel irritated and uncomforted. Take a cool shower for reducing the itching and redness of blisters. Make sure that do not take hot water for bathing, you can also add some cornstarch into your bathing tub or colloidal oatmeal both are okay with that, soak yourself into this water for 20 to 25 minutes, then dry yourself completely, wash your towel and cloths with anti-bacterial soap or liquid, to avoid spreading the infection to others, especially children.

  • Cold compress:

Shingle blisters or scars are so inflammatory, with redness and rashes on skin. So cold and wet compress can make you feel relaxed. Take a clean and cottony cloth, dip this into cool water and apply it on affected area. Make sure do not take excess ice cold water for that, which you can’t even tolerate. Normal tap water is fine. Repeat this process several times in a day, or whenever you feel such burning effect on skin.

  • Corn starch and Baking soda:

Corn stretch and baking soda both are good healing natural products. You just need to make some paste of baking soda or sodium bicarbonate with some water, take 2 tsp of baking soda or cornstarch and mix 1 tsp of water in it, and apply this on affected area, leave it for 15 to 20 minutes then wash if off with normal water. Repeat this process two times in a day. In few days you will surely feel the relief from itching and burning.

  • Lotion and creams:

If you are still feeling uncomforted, then you can use some soothing creams and lotion for shingle scars. You can simply apply calamine cream and lotion after bath on affected area, calamine is also beneficial for soothing skin, and it also make balance of ph level of skin.

  • Proper diet:

Proper and healthy diet can do miraculous changes in shingle scars, and can reduce pain and control the increment of infection. Try to take vitamin A, B-12 and vitamin B and E rich food products. You can take yellow and orange fruits, add green vegetables like spinach and green beans, also you must eat whole grains like lentils and beans. You can also have red meat and eggs as well.
